Despite the fact that the language was originally an oral one, efforts are being made to preserve and revitalize it. A mark of acute accent is used in case of a different accent point in the word. During WWII, the Comanche Code Talkers created a unbreakable code using their language.
The Uto-Aztecan language family includes 30 different languages, with Comanche being one of them. However, the language is still used in Comanche ceremonies and is being revived by a new generation of speakers.
